Lakes By Yoo Forest House: Sky-Frame
This home features floor-to-ceiling frameless Sky-Frame sliding doors, blurring the lines between indoors and its peaceful woodland surroundings. Designed for tranquillity and a deep connection to nature, the property embraces clean, modern architecture with a horizontal layout that contrasts beautifully with the height of the surrounding trees.
Set on a plinth, the house appears to float above its interior and exterior spaces, creating an ethereal sense of calm. Constructed primarily from timber, it integrates seamlessly with its natural setting, while carefully placed glazing enhances this harmony. An extended terrace further softens the boundary between inside and out, bringing the woodland closer.
From the entrance, a striking stone monolith is framed by forest views, setting the tone for open-plan living. The layout balances solid walls with carefully framed vistas, drawing the outdoors into the heart of the home. Sky-Frame windows in main living areas and the master bedroom maximise the connection with nature, while smaller windows provide more intimate glimpses of the trees.
Sustainability was central to the design, with timber and metal chosen to minimise environmental impact. The horizontal roofline not only adds to the home’s aesthetic but also provides essential summer shading, ensuring comfort in harmony with the landscape.
